Woodford Folk Festival

Nicole is coming to Woodford as a soloist! She has reimagined songs from her years with Cloudstreet, and The Folk Choir and brings them to you with guitar, fiddle, concertina, and of course, voice! In exciting news, she has published a book of ten of John Thompson’s original songs with music and lyrics, in time for the festival. And join her for the popular Funky Slow Tunes sessions, where she leads Irish tunes at an enjoyably slow pace, with guitarist Jem Dunlop.

‘Long Live the Green Man’ Sculpture for Woodfordia

Following a successful fundraising campaign in 2025, we now have raised the money to donate and install the bronze sculpture of John Thompson as the Green Man on the land at Woodfordia in 2026. Nicole has worked with visionary designer and longtime Woodfordian Paul Songhurst on the installation design and you can see the sculpture on display at the festival, at the Long Live Woodfordia/ Forest of Goodwill venue.

Nicole’s music is now on Bandcamp!

Posting things in this world has become trickier, but all of Cloudstreet’s back catalogue, John Thompson’s songs and Nicole’s other music is now available to buy digitally at Bandcamp, where the musician receives most of the money. Happy days.

Woodfordia Traditional Music School

Nicole teaches traditional-style folk tunes and songs at Traditional Music School, which happens on the last weekend of each month on the festival land at Woodford in Qld. She shares the pleasures of teaching out under the spreading fig tree with Jeremy Dunlop, and other teachers at the school include Alan Kelly, Kristin Kelly and sometimes guest teachers in other styles like bluegrass. Everyone is welcome and the weekend also includes doing a bit of landcare, going to the folk club at Coopers Bar and camping over if you wish. Joy!
