Nicole Murray and Emma Nixon created their fiddle-singing duo, The Wish List, in 2012, to explore the glorious possibilities of combined violin, viola and vocals, and to invite a wish list of guests to perform with them. They have been privileged to play with Nancy Kerr, Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas, and John Thompson. They regularly collaborate with cello-singer Rebecca Wright.
Their first recording, “The Wish List”, has been played on Radio National in Australia. The State Library of Queensland asked them to write a show for Queensland Week 2013, and they created “The Secret History of Queensland”, a show that combines their wonderful music with fascinating, little-known stories of their home state’s history, and Nicole’s illustrations, drawn live, in sand on a lightbox, and projected for the audience to enjoy.
